Introduction

1. Ponceau S Staining Solution can be used for the detection of protein on PVDF membrane, nitrocellulose membrane and cellulose acetate membrane. Ponceau S with a negative charge, it can be combined with an amino acid residue, and it can be combined with non-polar regions of the protein, then form a red stripe.

2. Ponceau S is reversible for protein. It can be washed with distilled water, PBS or other suitable solutionafter dyeing.

3. The kit is convenient for use with low background but high sensitivity. The lower limit of the testing of protein is 250 ng.

Kit Components

Protocol

1. Immerse the PVDF membrane, nitrocellulose membrane or cellulose acetate membrane in the Ponceau S Staining Solution, shaking for 3-5 min or longer until got the clear bands. Take records of the results.

2. Wash with distilled water, PBS or other suitable solutionfor 2-3 times, 3-5 min for each to remove Ponceau S, then process the following Western Blot assays.

Notes

1. Ponceau S Staining Solution is NOT suitable for protein assay on the nylon membrane.

2. Please wear the lab coat and disposable gloves to operate.
